Wow, today my wonderful people, Scott and Kendyle , took me up to Falls Lake where I got to do my absolutely favorite activity in the WWW (my Grandpapa Sonny says that means Whole Wide World) - SWIMMING!!!!!!!!! On the ride up there I had my head out the window and just barked like crazy. All that water makes me just a little bit excited. I couldn’t wait to hit that beautiful slick like glass water and go after a stick. I had some great long retrieves and I could tell that Scott was really proud of me. I’m practicing for when he takes me duck hunting again - I think I’ve finally gotten the hang of it.
We walked along the lake some so I could dry off and met some new people and a boxer bull dog, but I was more interested in enjoying the day. I swam so much that I fell asleep in the car on the way back home. BONUS - I did NOT get a bath when we got back home. I ran inside to hide as soon as we were back - if you don’t already know, I totally HATE getting a bath. I went swimming in the lake, so isn’t that like getting a bath?!?

I’m really excited to tell you my half sister Rankin finished second in this year’s Super Retriever Series 2006 SportDOG Team of the Year Standings. She’s a GRHRCH (Grand Hunting Retriever Champion) just like our dad Scout and really good at bringing things back. Although she didn’t win first, Rankin and her trainer Stacy West had an amazing year on the tour. She even finished fourth in the World Retriever Championship. My people and I watched her on TV a few times and she is just amazing. We hope that she wins it all in 2007. Stacy’s story about Rankin’s life is a good read, too.

My very first post! Thanks to my people for setting this up for me, it’s great to have an opportunity to voice my thoughts and opinions beyond just barking. I’m going to be blogging on my daily adventures, my dog friends, and all of the dangers that I have to protect my people from - like those evil squirrels.
Many thanks to the designer of my WordPress template, Sadish. His design Mistylook is beautiful and provides a lot of flexibility for future enhancements.
Woof.
